OsteoMed Spine will showcase its second generation instrumentation and new sterile packaging at the North American Spine Society (NASS) annual meeting, Oct. 23-27, 2012, in Dallas.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) October 23, 2012

OsteoMed Spine, a privately-held medical device company focused on developing next-generation, minimally disruptive devices for spinal surgery, announces several additions to its PrimaLOK™ SP Interspinous Fusion System. OsteoMed Spine will showcase its second generation instrumentation, smaller 4mm and 6mm implant sizes, and new sterile packaging, at the North American Spine Society (NASS) annual meeting, Oct. 23-27, 2012, in Dallas.

The PrimaLOK SP Interspinous Fusion System, commercially available in 2010, features next generation polyaxial technology for optimal placement and enhanced fixation to accommodate anatomic variations with minimal tissue disruption. The system provides posterior supplemental fixation for ALIF, TLIF, LLIF, PLIF, PLF and fusion revision procedures, often selected by surgeons as an alternative to pedicle screws without the potential complications. In addition to expanding from one to three instrument options to support various surgical techniques, OsteoMed Spine now offers the widest range of size options (4mm-18mm) of any interspinous fixation system.

David Muller, vice president of OsteoMed Spine, said, “These enhancements to our PrimaLOK SP Interspinous Fusion System strengthen our offering to spine surgeons seeking a low profile, minimally invasive approach. New instrument options help minimize operating room time and preserve patient anatomy, while the addition of 4mm and 6mm implant sizes accommodates the narrow spinous process opening at certain levels of the lumbar and thoracic spine.”
